Plant Spirit Fibers with Jennifer Johnson

Last year I met several plant artists, and I can’t wait to share with you the beauty and healing powers of their creations.

Jennifer Johnson is a plant dye fiber artist, a farmer and a medicine maker.  Over a decade ago, she discovered how to use plants for natural dye and as a result found her path and passion.

Jennifer creates beautiful and unique botanical prints and plant dyed fiber art.  Her family runs a single source dye farm. This is where they organically grow all the plants used to make incredible vibrant colors calling them “farm grown color”.  The botanical prints Jennifer creates are also made using fresh plants.  Each piece is inspired by nature and captures a season in time.

Jennifer has found plants to be a source of great healing and her inspiration in creating plant dyed pieces.  She believes the spirits of the plants live in the fibers. When you wear her masterpieces you connect with the healing spirit of plants and wear your medicine.

  • Loved this podcast! I never heard anybody talk about plants the way Jennifer did! It’s beautiful and it resonated so much with me 🌈 As well as wanting to dig deep down into my roots to find new ways to ground myself in a way my ancestors used to. If Jennifer will ever have a class or a course about that, i’d definitely sign up for that!
Like always, amazing host and guests. Love your podcast Lana and will definitely get back into listening to it more regularly now that I am finally able to build my new routine with my baby girl. 💗🌿🌞
