Hi, I’m Lana!

A pharmacy professor, herbalist, podcaster and a life-long learner, I’m dedicated to helping you have a more vibrant, healthy and resilient life with the help of herbal medicine.

Through my podcast/blog Plant Love Radio and courses I teach for healthcare students, I help people like you discover how to incorporate ancient herbal remedies, strategies and tips to improve your life and health.

An immigrant girl and a constant seeker, my story might resonate with you.

MY ROOTS

I’m often asked is “How on earth did you get started in all this?”

My great-grandmother was a homeopathic pharmacist in Ukraine. As long as I can remember myself, my mom always turned to natural approaches to treat small health-related problems during my childhood.

When I was 16, my family immigrated to the United States

Soon after our arrival, I decided to follow my great-grandmother’s footsteps and become a pharmacist.

One summer night (a few years later), I discovered myself sitting in my bedroom and sobbing uncontrollably right before heading back to school. My parents were completely puzzled – there was no good reason for my tears.

Now, looking back it’s easy to understand – I was afraid to go back to a demanding program where I constantly felt pressure, stress and competition. I didn’t know it then, but this was probably my first anxiety attack.

During the next several years I studied and worked hard to become a drug information pharmacist and educator, but even upon my graduation something was missing.

I knew a lot about pharmacological treatments of major disease states, but didn’t know how to take care of myself

I began my own healing journey by reading books on natural medicine, and soon discovered conferences for herb enthusiasts.

Herbs became my passion

Over the following few years I found several herbal teachers to study with. Learning from books was fascinating, but understanding how to actually incorporate herbs into my daily rituals was life-changing.

Plants offered me a gift of

THE EVOLUTION

These days I know how to keep myself grounded with my family, friends, good food, herbs, movement and right rituals. I react better to every-day struggles and continue studying herbal medicine.

My own journey helped me to meet many amazing teachers, researchers and clinicians, practitioners who inspire me every day. I’ve been inviting them to share their wisdom and expertise with my own students for a long time.

WHY I DO THIS WORK

A few years back I decided to take it a step further. I was ready to share my lessons with the world as a podcast. Plant Love Radio was born. This is where my herbal mentors and teachers share their own stories, and strategies for healthy and vibrant living.
